Rather uniquely, we replaced the old mainframe-based billing system of a big legacy Telco where complexity brought by decades of efforts for evolving the system put by different companies and individuals was tightly mixed with lost know-how. We did that while ensuring full migration of products definitions and customer's portfolios; meeting all requirements raised towards new software, while maintaining backward compatibility with the product offerings that have their original roots laying yet in the 90s.
We built a new application of Product Catalogue to satisfy the demanding needs of a Tier 2 Telco operator and successfully migrated around 2000 complex fixed-line, internet, leased line and other product offerings with countless varieties of billable services. The application was very successful and currently our Product Catalogue is the central point of product offering definitions and changes within entire Customer's infrastructure, which is then feeding other systems and modules with products and services data via a set of industry-standardized (like SID-based) and custom interfaces.
We invented and put live an online web-based (IBM WebSphere, Tomcat) interface which consolidates all ordering activities processed in various ordering platforms, GUIs and systems and transfers them from a host environment to a modern AIX-operated billing platform for having customer inventory fully registered in our billing platform repository.
We built a Rating engine which is capable of acquisitioning, guiding and rating a daily bunch of 12 million CDRs in 2.5 hrs on an AIX 4 Power6 processors machine with 20Gb of memory, where the fixed-line rates of a former monopoly Telco are very far from being simple flat-rate pricing schemas.
We invented and developed a new architecture of the cutting-edge Billing application operating on AIX environment (4 Power6 processors, 12Gb of memory on Production environment) which allows for charging complex products with a variety of possibilities of parameterized price definitions, discounts and very complex invoicing rules and we show performance levels of being capable of producing XML-formatted ETIS-standardized invoices output for 500 thousand accounts within a billcycle of 6 hours.
We made a stylish and functional-rich web-based CRM application integrating new technologies like Ajax for viewing and operating subscribers' data.
We have gained a vast experience in integrating our BSS and Billing platforms with various external systems. Our Rating and Billing engines not only do their internal work but also have integrated interfaces engine producing output for Data WareHouse systems, feeding SAP accounting modules with billing and subscribers data and producing XML-based ETIS-standardized output for external Printing platforms. Our Product Catalogue has got sophisticated interfaces to feed test and integration environments with new and changed data as well as providing other product catalogues (Clarify product portfolio, Tibco, OpenNet) with it. Our CRM application provides a variety of online and offline APIs exposing customers, resources and product instances inventory data for a variety of external systems.

Major part of our team got together and started to work as a team early in 2002.
Initially the team was built to provide professional services for MaxBill Limited that at its time was a young promising Israeli - based billing provider. The target was set to develop a pilot billing solution as a proof of concept for a relatively small part of data services portfolio of Telekom Austria company - a Tier 2 fixed line operator in Europe.
Following the successful implementation of the pilot project in the middle of 2003, the team targeted towards a replacement project of the entire Telekom Austria Fixed Line billing system. The main goal was to replace the existing legacy billing system including Rating and Billing, Product Catalogue and Customer/Resource Management systems, together with various interfaces connecting them over the huge legacy landscape and to provide backward integration with the existing infrastructure including accounting systems (SAP), DWH systems, ordering and provisioning platforms, etc.
At the beginning of 2007, upon our Customer's request, the entire core team was assigned the direct responsibility for the project and led it to a successful go live in production at the end of 2007.
As of 2010 we are incorporated as SYTOSS, while having our core team unchanged.
Since then SYTOSS has been continuously developing and supporting the Biling and BSS systems in line with latest updates, new business needs or technological changes in the surrounding infrastructure. We progress and growth with our Customers. Currently we closely work with several companies which comprise Telekom Austria group, maintaining and developing software as per our Customer's requirements.
